The eagerly awaited 13th Sharjah Light Festival (SLF) is scheduled to illuminate the night skies from February 7th to 18th. Hosted by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), this grand event promises to transform Sharjah’s most iconic cultural and natural landmarks into breathtaking artistic canvases, courtesy of globally acclaimed artists.

Under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the festival will showcase over 15 spectacular light shows, each masterfully curated by international artists. These awe-inspiring displays will unfold over 12 consecutive days, gracing 12 key locations throughout the emirate.

This year, the festival introduces three exciting new locations to its lineup: the General Directorate of Sharjah Police, the General Souq – Al Hamriyah, and Kalba Waterfront. These additions complement existing sites like Khalid Lagoon, Al Majaz Waterfront, BEEAH Group Headquarters, Al Dhaid Fort, Sharjah Mosque, Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi Mosque, Al Noor Mosque, and Al Rafisah Dam. Adding to the allure, the Light Village, situated in front of the University City Hall building in Sharjah, will feature 55+ small and medium-sized national projects, commencing on February 1st.

Employing cutting-edge, energy-efficient lighting technologies, the SLF will metamorphose these landmarks into vibrant tapestries of color, paying homage to Sharjah’s rich history and heritage. Already renowned for their architectural splendor, these venues will be further enhanced by the harmonious interplay of light and music. This dynamic combination will craft visual narratives that articulate the emirate’s past, present, and future aspirations.

The festival will serve as a beacon of peace, tolerance, and diversity, using the universal language of light to unite diverse cultures and civilizations, offering solace to the soul and visual delight. In its 12th edition, the SLF witnessed remarkable public engagement, attracting nearly 1.3 million visitors, with an impressive 184,000 visits to the Light Village.
